Performs routine clerical work in addition to maintenance and custodial duties of assigned facilities. Responsible for the safety and supervision of participants in Village coordinated functions and enforcement of all park rules and regulations.
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification.
  •  
    • Assist supervisor in monitoring and maintenance of facility, structures and recreational equipment in adherence with applicable State and Federal health codes.
    • Perform routine clerical duties supporting the administrative staff at assigned facility. This may include answering telephones, transmitting messages, preparing schedules, work assignments and evaluations.
    • Operate a variety of office equipment including a multi-line telephone system, computer, copy and facsimile machine. 
    • Provide courteous, prompt and knowledgeable customer service to the public in person and on the telephone by providing general information regarding programs and events, facility rentals and memberships. Greet visitors in a friendly and sincere manner. Escort guests through the facility as needed.
    • Operate recreation software to process rentals, memberships, class and program registrations and social events registrations.
    • Maintain assigned park facility by performing general maintenance and clean up duties, such as, the emptying of trash, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, wiping down tables and chairs and other furnishings, replenishing toilet paper and hand towels, raking leaves, cleaning concession area, petting zoo area, parking lots, restrooms, and ball fields.
    • Perform manual work in semi-skilled jobs involving maintenance, repair of buildings and grounds and minor construction, including pressure cleaning, graffiti removal, painting and other related tasks.
    • Perform concession and cashier duties involving the sale of retail products conducting cash and credit card transactions.
    • Perform admission booth duties selling admission tickets and collecting payments.
    • Provide assistance on event days; assist with the coordination of recreational activities, including setting up and cleaning of rooms for recreational activities and party rentals.
    • Routinely monitor assigned park facility and assist in park inspections to ensure the safety of the public and park facilities. Advise supervisor of safety hazards and non-routine repairs as needed.
    • Assist in training new Park Service Aide’s in their daily responsibilities.
    • Assist in overseeing the care and well-being of petting zoo animals.
    • Responsible for inventory control and procurement of cleaning supplies, animal feed, pool chemicals and concession resale. Responsible for reconciling related invoices for payment.
    • Maintain lost and found depository.
    • Enforce safety and other department rules and regulations.
    • Ability to become CPR and AED certified.
    • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities and tasks according to work schedule.
    • Ability to get along with others and work effectively with the public and fellow workers.
    • Ability to work assigned schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
    • Perform any other related recreational work as required and assigned.
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a licensed driver status in the State of Florida.
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to establish good customer relations. Must have an ability to deal with people effectively, courteously and enthusiastically.
  • Requires limited knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment typically used in recreational work and clean up duties.
  • Ability to understand and follow simple, oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of basic rules of safety and ability to enforce applicable rules and regulations.
  • Requires physical strength and agility to perform assigned tasks, which include, but are not limited to, bending, twisting, walking, climbing, reaching, lifting and carrying.
  • Ability to work assigned schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
  •  Additional specialized training or certifications such as camp counselor, aquatic facility operator, ServSafe certification or related experience is desirable
  • Must be fluent in the English language. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
  • Applicants must complete all requirements established by the Village of Pinecrest for employment.This may include, but not limited to, a written examination, typing test, psychological screening to determine suitability for position, polygraph examination, comprehensive background investigation, and a job-related medical examination including a drug/alcohol screening test.
  • Must be a non-smoker.
  • The minimum requirements may be waived by the Village Manager.
